As always, happy with some areas, not so happy with others... but overall, considering how rusty I am, I'm pretty happy with it. I had a helluva job with that fire - but sheer dogged stubbornness won through in the end! lol!
Beltane is a Celtic festival, is the exact opposite of Samhain and is a celebration of life and the beginning of the lighter half of the year. (Samhain being the celebration of death and the beginning of the dark half of the year) This time of year marks the greening of the grass and the budding of the trees. Everything seems to be bursting with life! Some folks would not consider it to be true Beltane until all of the trees had produced leaves. In Wales and Scotland, nine men would light the fires with the nine sacred woods at dawn.
The Rabbit is one of the many symbols of Beltane, symbolising fertility and new life.
This is for Beltane contest.
I give permission to to display this in their gallery and to submit as a print, proceeds to go to the Abandoned Wild Baby Animals Rescue fund. ONLY has been given this permission. Usual rules apply for the rest of you!
Nice little description there, I now know what "beltane" means (I thought it was just a particular breed of rabbit lol) considering that digital painting isn't your "main" media, I think it came out really good

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
